IWC TOP GUN Edition “Lake Tahoe” and “Woodland”
A double chronograph with a black zirconium oxide ceramic case and titanium case back marked the birth of the TOP GUN line in IWC’s Pilot’s Replica Watches family in 2007. Since then, using different materials have been a hallmark of TOP GUN models, adding to the identity of this line.
The new TOP GUN watches are the latest chapter in IWC’s partnership with the U.S. Navy’s Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor Program. They have traditionally featured some classic ‘identifiers’, such as the use of matte black ceramic cases.
The Cheap IWC Replica Pilot’s watch collection in the form of the jet black Pilot’s Watch Double Chronograph TOP GUN Ceratanium®. (Ref. IW371815) and in the same year IWC also introduced the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph TOP GUN Edition “Mojave Desert”, the first TOP GUN model in sand-coloured ceramic.
Now, in 2022, IWC is adding two new chronographs in white and green ceramic to the TOP GUN Pilot’s Quality Replica Watches collection – the TOP GUN Edition “Lake Tahoe” which has a white ceramic case, stainless steel pushers and crown, titanium case back, and a black dial with black lumed hands. The strap is white rubber strap with a folding clasp.
The TOP GUN Edition “Woodland” comes in the newly developed dark green ceramic case, green dial, black hands, and pushers, crown and case back in matte black Ceratanium®. It comes on a green rubber strap with textile inlay and pin buckle.
Both of the new models are 44.5mm with a thickness of 15.7mm and a water resistance of 60m.Behind the engraved case backs of both of these new models is the Top Swiss IWC Replica automatic Calibre 69380 column wheel chronograph movement, which beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 46 hours.
The use of classic military colours in the TOP GUN line goes back to the Miramar models with anthracite dials and olive green straps. The flight suits of naval aviators have inspired the distinctive shade of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph TOP GUN 1:1 Replica Swiss (Ref. IW389106).
These are two new ceramic colours for IWC, whose work with this material dates back to the 1980s courtesy, as we have mentioned before, of the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar (Ref. 3755), although it did not make its appearance in the Pilot’s Watches collection until 1994, in the Perfect IWC Replica Watches Review Ceramic (Ref. 3705). In a nutshell, colouring ceramic involves combining Zirconium oxide with other metallic oxides.
